Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Plus is reviving a classic that many people played back in the day, now working for modern PCs. The amount of dedication that people put into porting stuff to GOG is truly something amazing, and it is much needed for the current landscape of media that isn’t preserved properly. Operating systems always change and break many things, even if we don’t really need them to change at all, but that’s how it goes because a few companies need to keep taking cash from us. Thankfully, Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Plus is ready to be played on modern systems with multiple improvements.
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Plus is big
Widescreen support comes to mind when we are talking about improvements, it is a very basic feature but you would be surprised at how many old game ports don’t do this due to multiple reasons. Even some modern games struggle by providing a wide screen mode, so the fact that the team behind this modification helped GOG implement it is great. A trailer showcases pretty much everything that can be expected, best of all the features is the fact that many new levels have been added into the game. It really feels as if they truly remade it from the ground up.
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Plus was a much needed addition to GOG, a store that really tries to keep the mission of giving us ownership on the things we buy. Not many PC storefronts do this the same way as they do, and hopefully some other ones join the fray because if not, it will be a losing battle. People need to own the things they buy, logically, and the fact that they want to sell us licenses as they already do is horrible from the side of the consumer.
