Red Dead Redemption 2 solds an amazing 87 million units

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2, one of the biggest successes in gaming recently, has sold more than 87 million copies across all platforms including PC. This is a huge milestone many games would wish to cross someday, but the industry is so competitive that not every single game can have the privilege of becoming this big. If anything this shows that Rockstar still holds the industry in a chokehold, making everyone wait for the next announcement of Grand Theft Auto 6 despite all of the mounting controversies behind the game. Some however, are not that excited about it anymore, and I really stand by them.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is huge

Red Dead Redemption 2 is huge, and I’m surprised it still didn’t sell more copies, but considering the crisis we are facing with components and PCs and general electronics, it makes sense. Not to mention that most people just play old games instead of playing the newly released ones. All of this has a reason, and that’s because the quality of newer games has declined considerably in the current years, while prices have become more expensive. Therefore, indie games and other small games take over the market thanks to their offerings.

Red Dead Redemption 2 however is a great game, and since it went from mouth to mouth and crossed some console generations already, people have more trust around it. Not to mention that Rockstar Games is a big name, and still not controversial to the majority of the uninformed populace. When people start realizing of what Rockstar is doing however, I feel like Grand Theft Auto 6 might end up finding some roadblocks that will prevent it from becoming the huge success the company needs. Alas, people will keep buying, and Red Dead Redemption 2 proves that this remains true.
