The season 4 of Battlefield 6 featuring full-scale naval warfare is here and it seems everything that EA and Battlefield Studios have put together for the biggest season so far is finally paying off as the player count for the popular first person shooter has hit the highest in the past five months. On Steam, Battlefield 6’s player count has reached 81,745 concurrent users in the last 24 hours which is the highest EA’s flagship shooter has seen since midway through February. After reaching an all-time peak of 747,440 players when it first came out, Battlefield 6 has been seeing a steady drop in it’s player counts until season 4 came out yesterday.
On Twitch, the peak viewer count for the game has also hit an impressive 51,500 which is another concrete improvement over the past several months, indicating that both older and new players are genuinely interested in all the new contents of season 4.
The sharp spike in player numbers is a massive victory for EA and the devs who have finally managed to turn things around for the highest grossing shooter of last year, which had managed to surpass Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in actual sales numbers–a feat previously unthinkable for any other FPS out there. And looking at the numbers right now, it’s safe to say that Battlefield 6 is actually undergoing a huge resurgence courtesy of it’s season 4 which has brought it’s unique flavor of large scale combat simultaneously across land, air and sea, and has sparked a new lease of life into the game.
The season 4 of Battlefield 6 has just begun and to provide you with a proper heads-up on all the upcoming new contents, EA and Battlefield Studios had unveiled a full Roadmap which also highlighted all the dates and details of the Top Gun crossover featuring “vehicles, characters, and modes inspired by the franchise.”
Phase 1: Pacific Front has started yesterday with the biggest map in the entire series named Tsuru Reef while Phase 2: Top Gun is set to bring Wake Island which is a highly reworked version of the Battlefield 5 map featuring added scale, systems, and other modernized updates plus all the tantalizing crossover contents as it kicks off from August 18. And finally, Phase 3: Tidal Strike is set to close off the entire Season with it’s Deep Six: Collection Event starting from September 15.
