Activision has officially launched the Season 04 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone, introducing a massive wave of mid-season content headlined by a brand-new round-based Zombies map and the debut of Hollywood icon Nicolas Cage as a playable Operator. The update, which rolled out across PC and consoles on June 25, marks the midpoint of Treyarch’s ongoing season and kicks off the “Summer of Action” in-game event.
The main draw for co-op players is Kowakujō, a distinct round-based Zombies map set within a sprawling, feudal Japanese castle surrounded by active volcanoes and flowing lava. Continuing the Dark Aether narrative, the map tasks the crew with hunting down the final Shadowsmith and securing a powerful artifact known as the “World Seed.” Players diving into Kowakujō will face a variety of aggressive new enemy types, including the kanabō-wielding Oni, fiery Scorched Zombies, and returning Hellhounds, while hunting down a classified new Wonder Weapon that early reports identify as a mystical katana.
Alongside the new cooperative environment, the mid-season update heavily pushes the star power of its new crossover. Players can unlock Nicolas Cage via the Nick Cage Event Pass, which portrays a heightened, combat-ready version of the actor playing himself rather than any specific film character. The event pass runs until July 23 and features a progression track loaded with unique cosmetic rewards inspired by Cage’s career, alongside functional new gear like the returning AN-94 Assault Rifle and the Executioner’s Duet melee weapon.
Multiplayer fans also received substantial additions, including the luxurious jungle-based Zenith map and a remastered version of Launch, a classic map originally featured in the first Call of Duty: Black Ops. New game modes like Knife Fight and Team Blueprint Sharpshooter are now live, alongside a permanent Black Ops Classic playlist featuring four expanded map rotations. The update finishes with an extensive list of competitive weapon balancing adjustments affecting popular firearms like the Maddox RFB and AK-27 to reshape the current multiplayer landscape.
