Rockstar Games’ upcoming GTA 6 is certainly the Wrestlemania event for videogames not just for this year, but quite possibly this entire decade as well as the current generation of gaming. Pre-orders are all set to begin tomorrow, June 25, at midnight local time and will definitely be a watershed moment for most older players, for a lot of different reasons. And while the PC players are currently left out on the party as GTA 6 will only come out on the Playstation and Xbox systems this year, we may already have an answer as to which platform will provide the most appealing experience of the upcoming open world behemoth.
In a recent official blog post, Sony has boldly claimed that GTA 6 is going to play the best on the PS5, stating: “Thanks to the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will play best on PS5 by taking advantage of PS5’s immersive features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience when it launches on November 19.”
Sony also provided details on how the DualSense controller as well as their Tempest 3D AudioTech will provide a more immersive and vivid sensory experience of GTA 6:
“PS5 puts you in the center of the game world with the DualSense wireless controller reacting to your actions and bringing the sights, sounds, and sensations of Jason and Lucia’s story into the palm of your hands.”
“With Tempest 3D AudioTech, you can surround yourself in the distinct soundscapes of Leonida. From the streets of Vice City to the moments that unfold all across the state, this highly accurate audio positioning enhances your perception, helping to bring this world to life around you in unmatched ways.”
Sony has also highlighted that GTA 6 will have near-instant load times, thanks to the PS5’s ultra-fast SSD: “Grand Theft Auto VI also leverages the PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD, enabling you to experience the expansive world of Leonida with near-instant load times.”
So it’s becoming pretty clear that if you own a PS5, you’ll have a treat playing GTA 6 and even more so on the PS5 Pro as the upcoming title has just been confirmed to be PS5 Pro Enhanced as well.
But with all of that said, GTA 6 sure won’t look the absolute best it can look on either of the PS5s or on the Xbox Series X, and so, players on the PC platform has nothing to worry about as GTA 6 is practically destined to look it’s absolute best, in all aspects, in all kinds of maxed out Ray Traced glory, only on a high-end PC, when it comes out for the platform in the (hopefully) near future.
GTA 6 is currently slated to launch for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
