Slay the Spire 2 is currently dominating the market, even kicking down some Live Service titles a few pegs. Some new updates have happened, and now the game is getting a new beta branch with tons of balancing and accessibility changes. However that does not mean that the game will become a walk in the park, when you aim for ascension you will get congratulated with a message for doing so so they still think on the players who want to aim for the biggest challenges and always attempt to become better in each play through.
Slay the Spire 2 keeps developing
Its important to know that the game has been review bombed by Chinese players who believe the game isn’t that balanced, I personally think its fine and there’s nothing to worry about it. We need tough games, but perhaps we also need difficulty modes so the people who complain can have something to play on the side, a sequel is meant to bring bigger challenges than the previous iteration if not it wouldn’t make sense to keep playing. If a game does not pose challenges then it essentially is a game that gets beaten by itself.
I believe the team at Mega Crit is conscious that Slay the Spire 2 needs to live up to the hype and legacy of the first entry, so they are trying their best to appeal to everyone out there which will be a very hard thing to achieve if you ask me. Sometimes its better to appeal to your core fan base, if your core fans like what you are doing then stick to that. You can’t disappoint those who supported you in the past, so you always have to do the best to provide to them, while also doing what you want to do. Slay the Spire 2 will come out of early access in around 2 years.
