Toei Games is a new company brought to us by Toei, and its actually surprising that this is even happening the first place. Their first release will aim potentially to the PC platform. So far we really don’t know much about this mysterious development, but you can rest assured that whatever bit of news comes out of this I will do my best to cover it. When we will know more? In around 2 days there’s plans to announce their first game project that will start a series of new things, all of it will be new and they won’t use their pre-existing IPs.
Toei Games was a surprise
I actually didn’t expect this to happen, considering that Bandai Namco pretty much handles all Toei property, but once I looked into it deeper I realized this might end up being a move similar to that of SHUEISHA. This means that we will probably see a ton of indie talent being supported by this company, essentially becoming a huge published game. There’s 0 details about what the first game will be but we will know very soon actually, and hopefully its what I predicted, an indie title with tons of charm and potential.
Toei Games might end up being a huge success, or a huge failure, but they do have many things lined up to keep growing more in the future. Nothing on the corporate documents mentions the usage of “AI” for anything related to entertainment, or even at all, which proves that particular fad is pretty much going away. If the biggest animation studio does not care about such things, then that spells doom for those who wanted to go after our jobs and ruin the most humane of activities, that being art making. Maybe these tech bros will have to move to quantum next, cause Toei Games does not care about ’em.
