Besides Rockstar’s open world behemoth Grand Theft Auto 6 which is set to release this fall, one of the other hotly anticipated titles of the year is definitely Insomniac’s Wolverine and after the studio scored double whammy victories with all the Spider-Man games from the recent years, both fans and players are eager to see what the devs can pull off with Wolverine.
And recently the studio has stated that more news on Wolverine will be unveiled in Spring this year, they wrote: “More news coming later this Spring! Wishlist now: https://insom.games/WolverinePS5.”
This isn’t really anything new though as it was already known previously that new Wolverine material (possibly including gameplay and maybe another full length trailer) will debut this spring and considering that we’re already right in the middle of the season in April, the time of reveal is getting nearer and nearer with each day. So yes, the wait for new gameplay showcase from the upcoming title is almost over, in all possibilities.
And as for the official release date, Insomniac’s Wolverine is currently slated to arrive on September 15 this year, which is about as ‘safe’ as a launch window can possibly get in 2026 considering GTA 6 is scheduled for November.
After the phenomenal success of Marvel’s Spider Man and Spider Man 2, Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game has garnered a ton of anticipation and hype cause just like Spider Man, Wolverine can also be a driver for amazing gameplay which could easily result in a great game, especially in the capable hands of Insomniac. The way Insomniac took Spider-Man and pretty much reinvented him up to the towering standards of current-gen AAA gaming, from both technical and mechanical standpoints, it sure looks like they could pull off the same with Wolverine as well, especially after the first teaser which looks pretty awesome and true to the iconic Marvel character.
