The wait is over. This year’s new Call of Duty game is Modern Warfare 2 — stylized as Modern Warfare II so you don’t confuse it for the 2009 entry. The officially revealed sequel is a continuation of Infinity Ward’s popular series reboot.
Task Force 141 sees plenty of familiar faces reunite, including the skull-sporting Simon “Ghost” Riley and the mohawk’d John “Soap” MacTavish. Of course, the gruff and efficient Captain Price is back, too. The deadly group will embark on an international campaign, setting their boots on the ground in locales spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas. All of the action will be powered by the next-generation engine first seen in the 2019 entry.
Pre-orders have gone live, sporting a standard edition and a Vault Edition. Pre-ordering either grants early entry to the upcoming open beta (date TBD) and immediate access to both weapon blueprints and operator skins via the Ghost Legacy Pack for Modern Warfare (2019) and Warzone.
