Crimson Desert reaches another sales milestone as the open world title is now confirmed to have sold over 4 million copies worldwide, developer Pearl Abyss confirmed in their official Twitter/X page: “CrimsonDesert has sold through 4 million copies worldwide. Thank you to all the Greymanes who have been a part of this journey with us and for all of your incredible love and support.”
The action adventure title hit the sales number about two weeks after it’s release, making Crimson Desert one of the surefire hits of this year. The game sold 2 million in it’s first day, reached 3 million sold units in just 5 days and has now soared past 4 million copies in two weeks with sales numbers destined to increase even more in the coming weeks and months. The highly impressive sales numbers are only fitting considering how ambitious the game is in most metrics of videogame designs (Pearl Abyss has spent around 7 years and approx. $133 million for the making of Crimson Desert).
The high sales numbers, combined with the patches which have ironed out most of the annoying problems in the game (from adding a Storage box to a number of summonable mounts), also resulted in a significant increase in Crimson Desert’s review ratings on Steam, rising from ‘mixed’ to ‘Very Positive’.
In other news of the game, the newest patch has removed some of the AI generated artworks that were previously found in the game, so in all possibility, Crimson Desert is now pretty much AI-free.
Also, a new skin based on Crimson Desert is now available for Fortnite, however it’s going to be a bit tricky to get the in-game skin as you need to purchase the game from Epic Games Store and only then you’ll receive the skin as a “gift with purchase” in Fortnite. Check out how to obtain the skin as Pearl Abyss describes on their social media page.
