Developer Remedy has recently released a hotfix for Control Resonant aimed at improving the overall gameplay experience including addressing some the higher health pools of certain enemies and many other tweaks and adjustments like enabling players to fine tune many aspects of the game, to get a more customized experience. However, the hotfix has ended up “triggering certain platform mechanisms on PC” and as a result, players have currently no other option but to download Control Resonant all over again.
Remedy has described the issue on their official X/Twitter account and has apologized for the problem:
“We recently released a hotfix intended to improve the gameplay experience of CONTROL Resonant.
Unfortunately, this triggered certain platform mechanisms on PC, forcing players who had already downloaded the game to download it again, thereby causing you unnecessary inconvenience.
This was an oversight on our part. We don’t have an excuse, we would only like to sincerely apologise to everyone affected.
We will learn from this experience and strive to prevent similar issues in the future.”

Enemy Health and Dylan’s Combat Strength
We strongly believe these changes will improve the gameplay feel and flow while still providing a challenge.
Depending on player progression, enemies can feel too tanky during the early hours of the game. To address this, we are making the following changes:
- Reduce the base health and required Falter (stun) level of most enemies, as well as the Dancer and Deserter bosses
- Increase maximum Aberrant Strength and maximum Ability Strength
- These strength increases follow a curve, with progressively larger increases towards the end. The more upgrades you have, the more damage you deal.
Assist Mode
If you want to tweak the game further to your liking and tailor individual parts of the experience, such as enemy aggression, incoming damage, or how quickly Dylan recovers his abilities, the Assist Mode is there for you in the Gameplay menu of the game’s options. You can use the sliders to adjust the difficulty to your preference and have much more control over individual aspects of the experience, even to make the game more harder if you want!
Respeccing
To encourage buildcrafting and experimentation, we are permanently reducing the cost of respeccing and increasing the stock of these “Reset Items” across all vendors in the game.
- In addition, the first Resonant boss fight (The Artist) will now drop two “Reset Items” instead of one.
UI Text Updates
We will also update a couple of English UI texts to explain Build Power and Aberrant Strength better. These text changes will be English-only for now, with localizations to follow as soon as possible.
- Aberrant Strength: “Multiplier X%” will now be: “Damage and Falter X%”.
- Build Power: “Calculated based on equipped Weapon Forms, Talents and Core Upgrades.” will now be: “From unlocked Combat Abilities, Aberrant forms/upgrades, Talents, and Core Upgrades.”
We will closely follow your feedback and make further adjustments as needed. Enjoy the game, take your time, explore, and let us know what you think.
