Keeper is a great game that is quite short but an amazing experience overall. And the best part of it all, is that PC gamers can actually get it on GOG right now, the fact that this can be done means that Double Fine is a company to respect because they care about customers owning what they buy like any company should. If you don’t know who Double Fine is for some reason, perhaps the name Psychonauts might ring a bell for you. If that doesn’t, maybe you just know them due to the drama that happened with Xbox a while ago, and thankfully they are free from the grasp of them.
Keeper can be owned
Now that the game released on GOG, people can buy it and directly support the developers behind it. Steam takes a huge cut out of the game you sell because they have to keep their own business going, although it does feel a bit excessive. The return of Keeper is great, because it is a beloved Puzzle Adventure game like those good old titles from the golden era of gaming. All of the story of the game is also told without words, which makes things more impactful and universal.
If you are curious, I feel like the price is quite cheap for the kind of game they offer, and since you actually own what you buy from GOG, there is no fear that your install will go away. I highly recommend you supporting Double Fine’s Keeper, as they are in a very pivotal moment transitioning to an indie developer position. Doing this can be a very risky move, and they depend on fans trying to keep them afloat, Microsoft already did too much damage to them and it all depends on how much we support them.
