Halo Studios Face Fresh Wave of Job Cuts Following ‘Halo: Campaign Evolved’ Launch

Halo Studios Face Fresh Wave of Job Cuts Following 'Halo: Campaign Evolved' Launch

Halo Studios has laid off an undisclosed number of staff members following the recent release of Halo: Campaign Evolved, according to public social media statements from affected employees. The developments mark yet another round of workforce reductions for the Microsoft-owned developer, which rebranded from 343 Industries in late 2024 to signal a new era for Xbox’s marquee franchise.

The scope of the cuts remains unconfirmed by Microsoft, but public LinkedIn posts from former team members highlight the impact across several key development departments. Nick Treitman, a producer who served over six years at the studio, confirmed his departure via his LinkedIn profile, alongside scrum master Paul Morris, who spent two years at the developer as a contract employee before announcing his departure on his LinkedIn page. Software engineer Caleb Lawrence also indicated on professional networks that he is seeking new employment following recent team restructuring.

These latest role terminations come shortly after Microsoft executed broader corporate cutbacks across its gaming and technology divisions in July. Despite structural shifts and the studio’s high-profile transition to Unreal Engine 5 for future franchise development, individual contractors and permanent staff continue to face employment instability within Xbox’s internal network.

The ongoing downsizing underscores persistent industry-wide restructuring as major publishers recalibrate budgets post-launch. Halo Studios has not yet issued an official public statement detailing the precise head-count reduction or its potential impact on upcoming projects in the pipeline.
