Bloodborne is a very important game, and perhaps the only reason you would get a PS4 back in the day. No PC releases or ports to other systems severely harmed the game, but everyone who remembers it knows it was the only game that mattered in the PS4 library. Sony might have known this, so this is why to this day it hasn’t been released anywhere else. Even Shuhei Yoshida has zero idea as to what might be happening and why this decision persists. I personally have a feeling that current Sony knows, but Shuhei ain’t working there anymore after all.
Bloodborne is art
The fact that one of the best games of a generation is still locked to a single console is baffling, if it was released on more system it would have been even more successful than it already was. More people need to try out Bloodborne when they can, its one of the best Souls likes out there and it can genuinely beat up Dark Souls with little effort. That’s not to say Dark Souls is a bad trilogy, in fact, the reason of the comparison I made is because trying to beat Dark Souls at something is already a tall order.
Bloodborne is a game made by people who really care about gaming and building excellent worlds, one of the reasons Sony and the Playstation brand even mattered in the first place. Now that Japanese studios don’t even really work on Playstation anymore we can see greed taking reign and the quality of everything falling apart. The PS5 has no games, its a pointless console to own, and now Sony is hellbent on removing your rights as a customer because physical games are apparently evil now. Bloodborne will be timeless however, and there’s many ways to play it for free if it never comes out somewhere else.
