The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will allow you to jump early into it’s single player campaign ahead of it’s October 23 release date, if you pre-order or pre-purchase the Standard Digital Edition or the Vault Edition of the game on XBOX Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, Battle.net, Steam or Nintendo Switch 2. And if you do, you’ll be able to start playing the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from October 16 on all platforms, giving you a nice head start on what the devs are touting as a narrative-focused action experience that returns to the roots of the venerable series and can also be played completely offline.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will feature multiple storylines in it’s single player campaign mode and one of them sees players taking on the role of Private Park, a young South Korean soldier set to experience live combat for the first time in a routine mission that quickly escalates into a full-scale invasion by North Korea.
Another branch of the main campaign in the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 is centered around a rather vengeful Captain Price who is undergoing a “personal war from the shadows as he stays one step ahead of those hunting him.” Also, “as Price’s off-book mission collides with the forces behind the invasion, the war spreads beyond anyone’s control,” a line from the upcoming game’s story description states.
The brief outline of the story also says that Price will be portrayed in the game as an “operator-turned-outlaw” who is now working “outside the system he once served.”
It seems the campaign mode in Modern Warfare 4 aims to deliver the kind of spectacular, narrative driven missions that made the original Modern Warfare so memorable and endearing for all players of the genre.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2.
