Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition just got a new patch, and it seems to have fixed some crucial stuff that was wrong with this version of the game. Of course, none of these things are issues in the original release, and I remember making a review about this version thinking that it truly felt pointless. There’s tons of work to be done, but I don’t think its wise to spend so much money on getting a bloated version of a classic that still sort of looks the same. You can play the older version of the game just fine, or you can also download it from somewhere else if you already bought it.
Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition fix
This is yet another batch of fixes that plans to remove more crashing errors from the game, whether this might end up fully fixing things is yet to be determined, sometimes fixes like this need entirely new patches to fix the fixes so things can get a bit crazy on the developer side of things, especially when tampering with such an old code base. There’s a ton of things they should have done to justify the purchase of this version of the game, such as upgrading graphics significantly, or make it as tiny as the original game was.
Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition will remain the worst way to play a classic and you might as well not support this version unless you are a big fan of the series who wishes to see another release. I don’t believe the studio holds the licenses needed to make a new Neverwinter Nights game but maybe I’m wrong and the reason they quickly rushed this was to eventually give us a new game set in the same universe. Only time will tell if any of this is worth it, so far I believe Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition isn’t worth it.
