Mixtape might hit many people right in the feels, especially to those who had some interesting coming of age stories to tell. A trailer was released showcasing what we can expect from this new game, and it truly looks amazing to look at, not to mention that a ton of review sites already hold it in high regards. Games are an art form, as they combine multiple disciplines together to create something amazing out of it. It takes lots of work to make games if you really wanna put your soul into them, but Mixtape is the definition of a game that was made with tons of love behind.
Mixtape might be the GOTY of 2026
We are racing towards finishing the first half of the year, and we are already getting a ton of new competitors in the fray when it comes to amazing games to check out. Mixtape really gives off that air of a great game that eventually gets nominated for an award, and if you ask me I have a feeling it has a good chance to actually become the GOTY if things go right. As much as people don’t seem to be interested with engaging with stories, it seems that a ton of games like this have gotten people into reading more and more, which is a huge plus.
PC gamers often focus on the hyper competitive side, but with current gaming trends I can see this sort of behavior winding down, opening a path for people who wish to play single player games that end up becoming personal experiences. Competition is fine, but I yearn for the times when it happened face to face in an arcade, at the latest fighting game machine there was. Now it all feels so depersonalized that it makes no sense to compete against others. Thankfully games like Mixtape hit the spot when it comes to looking for some narrative to connect with.
