For most title nowadays, even for non-RPGs, the New Game Plus feature has become a standard fare which offers a more rewarding experience for new playthroughs but according to the devs at IO Interactive, the upcoming 007 First Light won’t be having the feature at all. In a recent Developer Stream, the makers of 007 First Light has answered many frequently asked questions including whether the action adventure title will feature any multiplayer component or if the game has a playable demo and more.
And in that developer interview, it’s also revealed that an internet connection won’t be required after the initial download of the game which is pretty rare in the industry today.
The devs have also stated that although 007 First Light won’t have any RPG elements or progression, there will be a constant flow of new unlockables which range from new gadgets to suits, although they’ll be limited to the game’s TacSim mode and will unlock via completing various in-game challenges. And even though there’s not going to be any skills for Bond to unlock, the array of gadgets will fill that role and you can select which ones to bring in each mission, which adds a layer of replayability and customization into the game.
In other news of 007 First Light, the CEO of IO Interactive has hinted that the Switch 2 version of the game could see another delay, although the end product will be totally worth it.
Also, check out the game’s final PC System Requirements to get a clear idea on how the upcoming title will look and run on your system. The visuals look pretty crisp, detailed and hopefully optimized to run well enough on most systems out there.
007: First Light will launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on May 27. You can start pre-ordering your copy of 007: First Light right now to get a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition.
