Warframe‘s Community Director did take the best stance possible in a GameSpot reveal, being transparent about a pressing issue that severely threatens the industry. That issue is “AI” slop, maybe you are wondering why I always quote the term AI in articles, and that’s because what we have now isn’t even AI at all, its just a fancy autocomplete tool that barely gets things right. Not to mention, the cost of running some of these models is something massive that no normal people can do if they don’t have the latest hardware available.
Warframe is free of AI slop
Be it code, art, and other things like voice acting and music too, Warframe and no other game from the company will employ “AI” to make them. Legally, whatever you make with an “AI” model isn’t even yours in the first place, as it uses stolen copyrighted material to be outputted in the first place. These models can’t exist without pilfering millions of images created by different people, to the point that “AI” is starting to train on itself, causing models to degrade. All of this is inevitable, and the current logic behind these models isn’t even here to stay, according to AI scientists with decades of experience.
Warframe is the endeavor of many, everyone put their own ideas together and with effort, they manage to create what they wanted to see. Each time you prompt, or whatever you even do nowadays with those systems, is not something that you actually wanted, you are being gaslight to believe its something you want. Artists are skilled people who often make what they want a reality with their own hands, in their own styles, no art piece is the same or even remotely similar, however, many of the people involved in the loud minority of AI grifters (who might be automated bots to pump stocks), still don’t learn the basics of what art even is.
