Road to Vostok might shape up to be one of the best survival first person shooter games out there as it managed to secure the funding necessary to keep its development with the help of PC gamers. Its currently being showered in praise and while it is still an early access game that can go down any time soon, I feel like the developers are dedicated to bringing the best out of it. Its even in the name of the company, this LLC is clearly aiming to just focus on the game and nothing more, and so far its shaping up to be a 2026 hit.
Road to Vostok secures funds
I had a feeling this would happening considering that other games similar to it such as Escape from Tarkov is such a mess right now, and hopefully this shows many developers how to do things right. This game also features a permanent death mode and its definitely the biggest draw behind it, you cannot have a real survival experience without some sort of long lasting consequence. So this game will push any gamer to do their best and ensure they pick all optimal solutions to their problems and hoping for the best.
Road to Vostok is pretty much being developed by an indie company without any sort of funding, so going with an Early Access plan is definitely a way to solve the lack of money for development. It also helps with getting people to try out the game and iron out some bugs for you by telling you what’s wrong. It does essentially feel, from the consumer perspective, as if you were paying to beta test and report bugs, and its honestly exactly this. You do get the advantage of playing the game early and for free, but you are also doing free work for the Road to Vostok developers.
