Cyberpunk 2077 is all set to get it’s PS5 Pro Enhanced update today with all the details of the new update revealed in an official blog post, so if you own the console, prepare to be wowed as you’ll get to experience what’s certainly is the best looking version of the game across all consoles. The new update will be utilizing the extra graphical prowess of the PS5 Pro to deliver a far superior version of Cyberpunk 2077 which includes three extra visual modes exclusive for the console. In the official post on Playstation blog, the devs wrote:
“We wanted to make the most of the PS5 Pro’s cutting-edge technology by bringing 4K visuals, powered-up performance, advanced ray tracing, and more to the Cyberpunk 2077 experience. The goal was to bring the very best out of both the hardware and our game to make Night City shine as brightly as possible.”
The devs have also “implemented BVH8 (8-way Bounding Volume Hierarchy) support to implement ray-traced lighting, shadows, and reflections, bringing the lighting even closer to our artistic vision for this world.”
The first of the three distinct visual modes in the PS5 Pro version of Cyberpunk 2077 is ‘Ray Tracing Pro’, delivering additional visual fidelity and the best RT effects that you can possibly get among all consoles including ray traced reflections, ambient occlusion, skylight, shadows, and emissive lighting. This is the most graphically enriched mode and will get you 40 FPS on variable refresh rate-enabled displays and 30 FPS for others.
Then there’s the ‘Performance’ mode which targets a sumptuous 90 FPS and will still provide a sufficiently high level of graphical fidelity and needless to say, if you don’t care about RT, this mode is going to provide the most enjoyable gameplay experience for you. And the final visual mode is ‘Ray Tracing’ which offers a middle ground in terms of graphics and performance, while targeting a locked 60 FPS experience which is great.
In other news of Cyberpunk 2077, developer CD Projekt has recently confirmed that they currently have no plans of making any more new DLCs or expansions for the seminal open world title, so yeah, it’s bye bye Night City.
