Ashes of Creation is quite the disastrous project that has scammed the money out of thousands of people. It was revealed recently that funds have been misused, in an extremely baffling way may I add, by paying professional chefs and wasting the rest in trading cards from scalped games in the market. Overall this comes of as disingenuous, and shows that Kickstarter scams are still kicking, whenever someone promises something big like this one should not trust in those words. People have been searching a good MMO for years, and they are starved for something of quality, sadly Ashes of Creation wasn’t it.
Ashes of Creation was a scam
This reveal confirms my initial suspicions since the game was announced, and this one was quite literally a millionaire steal that not many Kickstarter projects end up doing. There is a reason why the ever famous term, Kickstarter Scam, is even a thing in the first place and that’s because they are common, but huge ones like this actually aren’t that common. There was an actual product, expectations, and things seemed well until they weren’t and then everything went down the drain after a disastrous launch that triggered the entire gaming population’s worst scam memories.
They have been duped, the people that supported this scam will probably not get their money back unless Kickstarter intervenes, but as far as I know there is no proper protection. This might end up breaking into a huge legal battle against many people for years, or it might end up dying down as the story becomes irrelevant and fades into obscurity. If there’s no punishment then the only thing that will happen is new scams will pop up and the cycle of grifting will repeat, back in the day, this never happened in the golden era of gaming, things like Ashes of Creation couldn’t even exist.
