It looks like we could be getting our first official look at CD Projekt RED’s upcoming The Witcher 4 a lot sooner than expected as in the Episode 26 of the AnsweRED Podcast, the polish developer has hinted that the highly anticipated action RPG will be showcased at the Unreal Engine Fest in June 2026. And while it’s unknown whether we’ll get to see a tech teaser similar to the one shown at the State of Unreal event last year or a full reveal of the game but hopefully we will know sometimes before June.
While The Witcher 4 is not really expected to arrive before 2027 at least, but it seems the devs will let us know more about what they’re building in their most anticipated and ambitious title to date as early as June this year.
At around 18 minutes in the podcast, animation director Maciej Pietras points out that Unreal Engine fest has allowed the studio to showcase “so many technologies that we did” and mentions that it will be doing the same as last year which means there will probably be some demonstration of the game in the event.
The episode also drops a few little details on The Witcher 4, with the confirmation that there will be a dedicated jump button in the game, underwater swimming and a huge variety of NPCs. Although the last two are pretty common gameplay features in massive open world titles so they aren’t really all that surprising, to be fair.
The Witcher 4 currently doesn’t have a release date and is not expected before 2027 at least, but CD Projekt has showcased a tech demo featuring several graphical and gameplay-related features that’s going to make their ways to the final game. And even if you’re not a fan of the series, you should still watch it cause it shows The Witcher 4 is all set to push the boundaries of videogames as we know it.
Being made in the mighty Unreal Engine 5, The Witcher 4 is also supposed to raise the envelope of realism in videogame visuals far more than what’s possible right now, something that’s evident in the tech demo which came out last year.
