The Gran Turismo racing simulator series, which is one of the most iconic and legendary franchises in gaming spanning well over 25 years, is now preparing for it’s next huge installment as developer Polyphony Digital is reportedly hiring for their next game in the GT series. Currently, there are a total of 18 job listings at Polyphony Digital which clearly hints at something major that is at works in the studio and the translated version of the official job description removes all doubt regarding the project as it says:
“Gran Turismo” production team recruitment. It’s been 25 years since I started making Gran Turismo. The main reason we were able to keep making it was because of the players. I think this is proof that the work I continued to make so hard resonated properly. We are proud to have realized the ideas of the future as much as possible through art and technology. But I always think it’s still not enough to deliver the best experience to players…I want to create the future with art and technology. To those of you who have an insatiable desire to create. We look forward to your passion, technology, and ideas.”
There’s also a giant headline just under the message which reads: “Now hiring staff for the production of ‘Gran Turismo.’”
The studio is looking at developers for game testers, CG Artists and more, so if you think you’re qualified enough and have a passion for racing titles, you should definitely apply.
The Gran Turismo series has left an everlasting mark on the racing genre to the point that we wouldn’t have the racing titles that we do now if it hadn’t been for GT. The realistic handling model of cars, accurate physics and traction based on different terrains and other gameplay features that’s now staple in all racing games owe their existence to Gran Turismo cause it’s one of the games that had it all in the first place and pioneered the entire genre.
