Resident Evil Requiem has been a smash hit (both critically and commercially) since release and according to game director Koshi Nakanishi, the game is set to get even more contents this year including a major story expansion which will likely take place after the events of the main game plus other additional contents planned to arrive in the coming months. So if you’re currently enjoying Resident Evil Requiem, rest assured that there’s going to be more to love from the game this year.
In a recent video message posted to Twitter/X, Nakanishi wholeheartedly thanked all players for making Resident Evil Requiem an enormous success with over 5 million copies sold in a week while also revealing that Capcom has more in store for players which contain additional story contents, a “mini-game” that’s likely to arrive sometimes in May and an upcoming Photo mode.
“We’re planning to add more add-on content,” Nakanishi said in the video message. “First, the much-awaited photo mode. On top of that, there’s another surprise coming around May. We’re planning to add a mini game. We hope to continue providing support on Resident Evil Requiem to live up to its positive reception.
“We are planning to make extra story content!” he added, “In this story,” he said, “we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We’re hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you’ll look forward to it. Thank you again for all your support!”
Resident Evil Requiem has also garnered a sky-high score of 9.5 from players in Metacritic, which is among one of the highest rated videogames of all time and is on par with last year’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
