Pool of Madness is pretty much what Balatro would be if it replaced poker with pool. This new PC title is filled with tons of synergies to uncover and lovecraftian secrets to bring back from the deep. Combine creepy power ups and abilities together to maximize the chaos that you will unleash on the pool table, and also we will use guns to do so because using a pool stick is very boring if you ask me. There’s a ton of things to do, horrors to discover, and pool balls to blast off in this new horror roguelite that might end up becoming even more crazy with time.
Pool of Madness looks insane
You can request a playtest to see if you can get in and test this new experimental type of game. I’m genuinely curious about many elements presented by this game and how the gameplay will even flow, but from what we know we will face terrifying bosses and even more mysterious threats as we keep on going, progression will be there since this is a roguelite game too. As you keep playing each run you will get stronger and stronger, becoming more able when it comes to tackling new terrors.
Pool of Madness is deeply inspired by novels by Lovecraft and other myths of Eldritchian entities, so be prepared to find tons of freaky things in this game that might not let you sleep for a night or two. Each pool table is an altar and you are trying to summon these demons to fight against them, or at least that’s what the description tells us. The only thing I know about this game is that it looks insane, and nobody did this before for certain, so if you are interested check if you can get the chance to playtest Pool of Madness.
