Fangstorm looks pretty solid, this new PC game really feels like a fan interpretation of how games like Vermintide should play out. There’s a ton of cool elements to it and its also rather impressive for a solo project too. For fans who have been seeking something that feels like Vermintide but feels much better than it, since it will be geared towards a single player experience, I believe that Fangstorm holds well against many other games. It is clear that the 3D models are made in a low poly style to save resources, at the same time they do have a voxel-ish look to them.
Fangstorm looks epic
I genuinely wonder how this one will play out, but considering the person behind this really likes games like Vermintide and Orcs Must Die, I’m very sure that we will find tons of influence from those games in this new PC game. That’s not to say the game will lack its own identity, there’s a ton of cool things that feel unique to it and we will get to see them in action once the game releases at an unspecified date. So far, it seems that the only platform for this one will be PC.
Many indie games come and go, often forgotten because there’s a ton of releases happening everyday. This can be both good and bad, good because there is a ton of people making games, but bad because many of these don’t get the treatment they deserve, and often get ignored despite being good. People feel overwhelmed, and often go back to classic things they already know, its pretty trendy to play retro games lately and its one of the reasons many indie games aim for older aesthetics. If you are interested in Fangstorm, perhaps you should wishlist it then.
