Epic Games did it again, and they have pretty much fired a huge chunk of the people who made Fortnite into the behemoth that we know and hate. This is a huge surprise because Epic Games is pretty much a competitor to Valve yet they pretty much do everything wrong compared to them. This is terrible for the people who were working at Epic, since their dreams are now shattered and their careers have ended, but hopefully they can find a better place to work at or unite together to make something big with whatever remains of what they have.
Epic Games does the obvious move
They just want money, Epic Games is quite greedy and will do anything to get every single bit of money from us no matter the cost, they are even pro-“AI” in their stance by having using it during Fortnite itself. It’s just insane that people keep coming for Fortnite despite all the drama, but its also understandable because most of them are just children. I wish all of that generation could grew in a place where things are more real and humane, instead of the horrific slop that is coming out from the digital orifices of whatever “AI” service they use.
This cut may come amidst the current crisis for Software as a Service, games of the Live Service variety technically count as this when you analyze it deeply, so they just wanna aim to replace people and creatives because they believe “AI” can do it. Truth is, “AI” can’t really do anything as it still needs the input of someone, and even then efficiency will be lost trying to correct all the bugs and errors in the output. Epic Games does not care about efficiency, but about saving themselves and pleasing the shareholders.
