If you played Street Fighter 6 recently, you may already know that the new Alex character saw himself in some controversy. This is because the character married his second cousin in the game’s storyline. Naturally, this caused a stir amongst both Street Fighter 6 fans, and video gamers in general.
It eWell, it seems as if Capcom has listened to the enormous backlash for this storyline. This is because Street Fighter 6 director, Takayuki Nakayama, posted on X an apology for the controversy. Check out the post below.
“We apologize for any confusion that recent topics regarding Alex’s story may have caused. While we have not changed the characters’ backstories,after internal review by the development team, we plan to revise certain text passages that may have been misleading in the near future. Additionally, we have published a supplementary episode on “Buckler’s Boot Camp” to provide further insight into the characters’ emotions and backstories.”
It looks like some amended story text will be added to the game that will fix all of this. A lot of Alex fans were disgusted and vowed to never play the game again! Hopefully, this change will bring those fans back.
