Resident Evil 4 Remake is the latest optimization blunder that Capcom has made, the decision to swap DRMs has to be one of the worst ones ever, as it severely impacts the performance of PC users who legitimately bought the game in the first place. There’s always more and more reasons to pirate big releases, be it the price increasing the the current shrinkflation, or even just wanting to play the game how it was meant to be played. The gaming market is suffering due to bad decisions and greed, and as long as pricing does not go down things will keep looking grim.
Resident Evil 4 Remake DRM Drama
It feels like we are sent back to the year Resident Evil 7 was released, we had a very similar issue with DRM over there, and that one was Denuvo, who seems to still be a pretty terrible DRM system even today. While DRM does protect games for a while, people end up cracking it, as a matter of fact there’s rumors circulating that Black Myth Wukong is finally free from the shackles of Denuvo, and people are finally able to get it. However, the crack does not seem to be public because the hacker in question does not wish to release it due to legal troubles.
Resident Evil 4 Remake could use the help of people who are willing to take a crack at its security, Enigma DRM shouldn’t be a big issue compared to Denuvo, as there has been proof of it getting cracked by many already. As a matter of fact one can get other Resident Evil games that were protected by Enigma when they look hard enough, meanwhile Denuvo keeps being a mystery. This sounds like a deliberate action by Capcom to show that they want to free Resident Evil 4 Remake for everyone to get it.
