Developer Playground Games has revealed how you will be making your progress in the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 which features the most refreshing change for the campaign mode in the whole series where instead of starting as an established festival Superstar like in the previous games, players will begin their long and storied journey in Horizon 6 as a tourist with ambitions of making it into the Horizon Festival and eventually becoming a Legend in the racing world.
There are two pillars in the main campaign of Forza Horizon 6 which is Performance and Discovery with both building on top of each other in your path of becoming a racing champion. To get to the Festival, you’ll need to complete the Horizon Qualifiers and earn your first wristband which grants you access to many decorated races all across the land of Japan. And you’ll be earning more wristbands by participating in various Horizon festival events including both PR stunts and skill based challenges. Eventually you’ll be entering increasingly demanding races that feature supercars and diverse terrains and designed to put your racing skills to the test.
Besides the races, there’s also the Discover Japan mode which lets you take a break from all the fast racing and just breathe in the exotic and breathtaking landscapes of Japan which will be brought to life with full glorious RT in Forza Horizon 6. This free-form mode allows you to earn Stamps by photographing landscapes, completing various side activities such as Touge Battles or night street races and exploring cultural hotspots. The Discovery mode comes across as a breath of fresh air in the series, which is also highly rewarding in the form of new cars, credits and different cosmetic items.
Both of these modes contribute to your overall advancement in Forza Horizon 6’s campaign, also providing players a degree of flexibility and freedom in terms of how they can approach the overall experience. Also, you can play the campaign as both solo and in co-op with options to adjust race conditions, vehicle selection, weather and more as you get to a certain point in the game.
The Standard Edition of Forza Horizon 6 will cost $69.99 while the more expensive Premium Edition will include the game’s first two expansions, the game Car Pass, two “Car Packs”, a “VIP Membership”, and a Welcome Pack plus four days of early access period. Also, everyone who pre-orders Forza Horizon 6 will get a “Pre-Tuned Ferrari J50” which will definitely make the first few hours of the game much easier.
Forza Horizon 6 is speeding it’s way to the PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 19th and is expected to launch on the Playstation 5 later this year.
