The Attitude Era that took place during the late 90’s to early 2000s is largely considered as a time when WWE had peaked, and haven’t quite managed to recapture that glory in any other point in the history of the company. But now it’s confirmed that the upcoming WWE 2K26 will be bringing back the same great era of wrestling with style as the Attitude Era edition of the game has been revealed which you’ll be able to pre-order as early as January 30.
The edition’s cover features many of the iconic superstars who had defined the attitude era and pro-wrestling in general such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, DX, Kurt Angle and more. The new edition is sure to bring even more flair to WWE 2K26 which is shaping up to be as promising as last year’s game in more ways than one. Also, since the cover revealed is only for the Attitude Era edition of WWE 2K26, it’s still unknown who will be featured as the cover superstar for the standard edition of the upcoming game.
It was previously revealed that CM Punk will be the focus of the Showcase mode of WWE 2K26 and players will be able to recreate many of the superstar’s most memorable and pivotal matches from his long career. There will also be four new type of matches where one will be completely new (the Dumpster Match) to the series while three match types will be returning from much older entries of the series which are the Inferno Match, I Quit Match and the 3-Stages-of-Hell match.
Also, the open world Island Mode which debuted in last year’s WWE 2K25 will also be returning with a brand new storyline that’s sure to be at least as engaging and memorable as it has been in the previous title.
The most ambitious entry in the long running series, WWE 2K25 was met with fairly positive reviews upon release with critics praising the numerous gameplay improvements and the overall number of tweaks that was implemented to make it stand out from it’s predecessor. Boasting the largest roster the series has ever seen till date with over 300 Wrestlers, WWE 2K25 also had a total of 5 DLC packs with each bringing lots of contents and playability to the game.
