The Witcher 3 is definitely one of the best third entries in gaming according to many, its expansive world and amazing story left many astounded and wanting to get more of it. This is a talent that CD PROJEKT RED seems to have when they do games, and despite the initial flop of quality that happened with Cyberpunk 2077 they have recovered making it one of the best games that we got to play. It was announced before that The Witcher 3 would get a free next generation update to improve graphics, but now we know a new expansion is coming in 2026 to give you more reasons to play.
The Witcher 3 is getting renewed
Fans of the series are very happy to hear that we will get more stuff, although the only source is some Polish website that seems to be reputable. After all CD PROJEKT RED is a team comprised mostly of people coming from Poland, so there must be some sort of correlation between that site and valid information. There’s also some youtubers discussing this as something that will come soon in May of 2026, so we will just have to wait for some months to get something new and more reasons to play the game again.
Of course, we aren’t really sure if this new expansion is going to be free, there’s a ton of chances that it won’t be but maybe there’s hopes for something very cool to happen. There’s no information as to what this new expansion will entail, but some sources claim that the people involved with it are the same studio who is producing the remake for The Witcher 1, Fool’s Theory, this leads me to theorize that maybe this expansion is related to lore from the first game.
