Hytale looks like Minecraft, and this is because it is made by people who started making Minecraft mods in the first place. Hytale also released recently in an early access state and you can buy it for 20 dollars right now. If you aren’t happy with the current state of Minecraft, perhaps trying something different might be the ideal choice. If you wish to try something new, Hytale is the solution to that problem because it actually does things quite different compared to Minecraft, and I would argue it is inspired by plenty of mods that Minecraft got over its lifespan.
Hytale is interesting
The similarities honestly end at the graphics for me, and despite the people behind the game having a ton of relation with Minecraft itself, mainly because they own the Hypixel server, that’s where the “plagiarism” ends. While I would love to see something derivative in the medium for once, getting something like this from time to time is also okay, not everything can be perfect. The game industry is very vast and we really have to be thankful that Hytale could be saved from the grasp of Riot Games of all people.
Not many games have the privilege of coming out, and sometimes they even get lost during development, and this took around a decade to become a reality due to all the controversy surrounding it. Hopefully Hytale can remain something pure that does not get into another controversy, but since the medium is so volatile and trends move so fast nowadays, it is possible that this game might lose relevancy very quick. Back in the day things seemed to stick for longer, now you are lucky they stick for an entire month.
