Disney fans are quite made right now, especially after the delisting of classic titles on Steam such as the PC port of Hercules, a game that you could also play back in the PS1 days, and other titles like Afterlife that is regarded as a very good game and it also looks like an original IP also made by LucasArts. There really is no reason as to why all of these and many other games have disappeared from the platform, it feels as if they were calling for people to pirate them. At the same time one can assume that licenses have expired and the people behind them want their works back, which is reasonable in a way.
Disney removes some gems
While the majority of titles removed aren’t really of the best quality preservation never discriminates and wishes for everything to be preserved regardless. However, delisting the PC port of Hercules was quite an unexpected move if you ask me, that game is rather good despite the issues it might have had and didn’t deserve to meet this fate at all. Hopefully GOG can do something about these games and give them a new home in a storefront that cares about preserving the history of game making and its legacy.
Disney, in my opinion, is doing a lot of wrong moves that makes you question the integrity of the company itself, from their ties with powerful people, to their multibillion deals with OpenAI, it is clear that this isn’t the same company we used to know at all. It is even expected they would pull some move like this that would deprive people of experiencing the classics, but thankfully these have already been preserved by fans all across the world, its only a matter of trying to find them. Let us know what Disney game you had the most memories with.
