World of Warcraft keeps chugging more content despite the fact that it has been with us for more than two decades. Each time a new expansion releases, troves of players, both veterans and newcomers alike, end up filling the servers to the brim. Despite the subscription that bars many people from entering the game, some are willing to spend their hard earned money to play a game that has remained rather similar for so long, proof that games that stick to their roots and their own ideas often triumph over games that change constantly into different things.
World of Warcraft adds something crazy
Final Fantasy XI was one of the first MMOs in the market to have such a feature like player housing, after 21 years however, World of Warcraft decides that its time to do the same and bring a similar feature to the game. Fans who have been playing the game decades ago are surprised, and while newcomers might not notice this change and think its rather simple they might eventually see the benefits that this brings. The ability to decorate and create things to make them your own is a big factor in player retention, as history has shown that people love customization.
Nothing better than adding the ability to have your own home in your favorite virtual world, and this also comes with some interesting quests along the road. Some players are, however, voicing their discontent for the quest line associated to it, shunning it as a filler that isn’t worth playing and that Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves. Regardless of takes, this has surprised players and they seem to be eager to try this new feature out, the fact that it took 21 years to add this to the game is quite insane when you think about it, World of Warcraft has a massive history.
