Swarm Me is another true indie game for PC gamers, and for those who have budget PC builds and want to try out something new. The game does pretty much look like Vampire Survivors but in 3D, and also with robots, a new trailer has been released showcasing some gameplay. I know what some might be thinking, perhaps indie developers are copying the Vampire Survivors formula a bit too much, and you would technically be right, the indie space needs more variety behind it. Perhaps it would be a good idea to explore other places like Itch.io instead.
Swarm Me looks interesting but safe
Perhaps the biggest change in Swarm Me is the fact that it feels more trap focused compared to Vampire Survivors, as if they decided to take a minor element found in that game and ramp it up to eleven. Most of the time, ideas like this work just right, but you have to put some extra care into them if you want to truly stand out. At the very least the aesthetics look fine enough and distinguish themselves, we don’t have many 3D Vampire Survivors type of games, only Megabonk comes to mind if you ask me.
If you are interested in trying it out, you can request the opportunity to playtest Swarm Me and wait to be selected, it would be ideal you do since doing so would allow you to give feedback to the creator. There’s still no proper release date for the game, but I can assume it might be coming in 2026 and perhaps even in a few months from now on. It does not seem like the kind of game that gets stuck in development hell but I might be wrong. If you are interested in Swarm Me but don’t want to play the beta, perhaps you can wishlist it instead.
