Phantom Blade Zero is an upcoming Soulslike game with elements of RPG mechanics sprinkled in, which should make for a challenging and rewarding gameplay experience, and it’s release date is currently confirmed to be revealed at the upcoming The Game Awards which will take place on Thursday, December 11.
First announced back in August, the official launch date for Phantom Blade Zero was supposed to be revealed before the end of this year and that’s exactly what’s been confirmed to happen so if you love the Soulslike genre, the upcoming title from developer S-Game is more than worthy of your attention.
Hands-on preview of Phantom Blade Zero also suggests that it’s not an out-an-out Soulslike title but actually leans more towards action games like Stellar Blade which should be plenty exciting in many ways. A short video clip has also been released with the announcement on Twitter/X, and though it doesn’t show any actual gameplay, it kind of sets the tone for all of that to come in the upcoming The Game Awards show which is just around the corner.
And although Phantom Blade Zero’s release date is currently up in the air, there’s reason to think that it will come out in the first half of next year cause make no mistake, 2026 is going to be the year of GTA 6 as we’ll see lots of promotional materials including gameplay videos, new trailer (s) and many more as the official advertising campaign actually kicks off which is surely going to break the internet many times over. And all of the games, especially the ones that are particularly new and doesn’t have an already dedicated audience, in all likely, would want to steer clear of the GTA 6 wave which may start even before mid 2026.
This year’s The Game Awards is already packed with all kinds of gems and surprises from Resident Evil Requiem, 007: First Light and many more exciting upcoming titles to look forward to.
