Even though IO Interactive is currently at work with the upcoming 007 game named First Light, besides expanding Hitman World of Assassination with new and exciting contents, there will most certainly be another mainline Hitman game at some point in the future, the CEO of the studio has stated. Speaking to Variety in a recent interview, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak has hinted on another Hitman title in the pipeline for the studio:
“So of course there will be more ‘Hitman,’” Abrak stated. “But right now, I think we need to get to the other side of this year and next year you’ll get more news about ‘Hitman’ co-op, because I think co-op is a really, really good extension to the universe, and will introduce very interesting mechanics and combinations in ‘World of Assassination.’ But we will, after that, be talking about the next ‘Hitman’ — because, of course, there’s going to be a next ‘Hitman.’”
And while the CEO hasn’t let out any other info on the future Hitman game, this is as close to an unofficial announcement as well as confirmation that there will indeed be another Hitman title, possibly after the studio is finished with 007: First Light. But Hitman fans have a lot to enjoy in the meantime with Eminem joining the World of Assassination in what’s sure to be an unforgettable thrill ride of an experience.
The upcoming 007: First Light boasts an impressive, star studded cast of Dexter: Original Sin’s Patrick Gibson as the new James Bond, Fear the Walking Dead’s Lennie James as Bond’s mentor John Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny and Noémie Nakai as Miss Roth.
