Granblue Fantasy is coming to PC for the first time in 12 years since it released in Japan. The only thing we had access to so far were the fighting games that are known for having tons of quality put behind them. Granblue Fantasy started as a mobile JRPG with microtransactions and gacha, so we can hopefully get a version of the game that reduces that sort of predatory monetization tactics or outright puts a price tag making it a real game instead of a live service title. It is sad that the fate of Granblue Fantasy is the same that all other gachas have.
Granblue Fantasy coming to the west
Fans of mobile gaming, if any, might be very familiar with this game that has been locked to Japan for a very long time, a classic example of a turn based JRPG gacha that spawned multiple copies and even some straight up ripoffs. Whether we like it or not, we have to recognize that this game is one of the most important gacha games out there and a big symbol of Japanese gaming too, at least when it comes to the mobile space. Players from all over the world have tried VPNs and other methods to play it even if was locked in Japan for years.
Gacha fans will do their best to get their hands on games like this no matter if they have to go through the point of getting a fake account in a regional service, that’s how dedicated they are. Now, if you are curious to try out Granblue Fantasy and only knew about the fighting games, this is where it all began so it might probably not be your cup of tea. But if you still wanna give it a try, its coming in March 10 of 2026, so mark your calendar.
