Goonswarm Games started playing the victim when the new Postal Bullet Paradise was announced for PC some days ago. The studio claimed that everything was made by humans, and now they are saying that all of these are allegations despite it being very obvious its just “AI” slop. If you can’t believe this, when you check out their other games every single one of them uses “AI” in some way or another mainly for the art and perhaps for the code too. Thankfully they did the thing all of these studios should do and closed doors out of pure shame.
Goonswarm Games is shameful
Before the announcement of Postal Bullet Paradise, nobody really knew about Goonswarm Games and it makes sense why not. “AI” might not only kill the visibility of genuine artists but it also leaves a huge stain on the reputation of the people using it. This is why so many “indie” developers who rely on it barely reach anywhere despite thinking it would make them millionaires in few days. Regrettably, not many people learn from this fact and they still commit the same mistake despite being proved time and time again that this method does not work.
Even companies such as Krafton are facing backlash for becoming an “AI” first company, and they are currently on a legal battle over who keeps Subnautica 2 which was stolen from their original creators. Then we have other reviled companies such as EA Games and even Activision, with the new Call of Duty entry being subpar and marking the worst era for that entire IP. Using “AI” is a huge risk that never pays off, and people are getting tired of seeing it everywhere due to the fact that it isn’t even normal. People wants to buy games that are made with love and passion, and Goonswarm Games definitely didn’t bring these things.
