Frostpunk 2 is getting bigger with its new DLC and there’s a ton to explore with Fractured Utopias. It is important to not that this DLC comes bundled with the Deluxe Edition of Frostpunk 2 so perhaps the right thing to do is buy that edition instead if the price is lower or there’s a deal. Fractured Utopias comes with 8 unique faction Utopias that will change the way you play the game, along with other changes such as new systems, tools and a new endgame experience different from what existed before. This is a great addition for the price its asking for.
Frostpunk 2 gets bigger
Building a perfect society comes with big costs and each of the 8 Utopias strives for something different, giving players agency on what they aim to do and making each decision important. Many strategy games often boil it down to something simplistic but Frostpunk always gave some interesting choices that other City Building games didn’t have. One of the biggest additions to the DLC is the fact that it includes an entirely new map in it, adding more reasons to play the game again by exploring it.
11 Bit Studios has done some interesting things with the series, so we can only hope that any new DLC for Frostpunk 2 continues to bring more reasons to jump back and have a good time trying to plan out the perfect city. The Utopia Builder mode brought by this DLC proves to be a very interesting addition that will put morality to a test, you might make the future better but you have to ask who are you making it better for. If you are interested on the DLC, or even Frostpunk 2 itself but can’t afford it, I would recommend you to give it a spot in your wishlist to help the developers out.
