Anyone who has played the Dishonored series of games knows that Arkane is one of those rare developers in the industry who strives on pushing the boundaries of both gameplay and level designs, in ways that are pretty much unmatched and unforgettable. Dishonored 2 had easily some of the most groundbreaking levels ever made, along with it’s gameplay that was equally innovative and memorable. And the fact that Marvel’s Blade is being developed by none other than Arkane Lyon, certainly raises the bar for expectations regarding the upcoming third person action adventure title, in more ways than one.
And according to Arkane’s co-creative director Dinga Bakaba, the upcoming Blade title is definitely shaping up to be something really unique, which is pretty much what you’d expect as it’s being made by the same studio behind the Dishonored series. In a recent tweet, Bakaba confirmed that Marvel’s Blade is certainly going to be ‘special’, he wrote:
“The team is hard at work, everyone is super proud and out doing themselves. Please be patient, it will be a special game and we all hope it will be meeting the high standards that we set for ourselves and for you all.”
Blade is not your typical Marvel protagonist and brings a more unique moveset which has the possibility to open up whole new ways of gameplay in both stealth and action scenarios that can be as innovative and memorable as the Dishonored titles. So yes, you can definitely keep your hopes high for Arkane to deliver a title that can stand proud to some of the best works from the studio.
The upcoming Marvel’s Blade is set in the city of Paris and puts the players in the shoes of the legendary Daywalker Eric Brooks, as they explore a fully original story set in a quarantined zone where a supernatural emergency situation is unfolding.
