Since it’s release, Monster Hunter Wilds on the PC was plagued by widespread performance issues even on sufficiently high-end systems and it truly seems the upcoming Title Update 4 will finally bring about the necessary performance improvements and fixes that will ensure a smoother gaming experience across a wide range of PCs. Monster Hunter Wilds, which has been one of the biggest hits of this year, is set to get the free Title Update 4 on December 16 that will introduce a new Elder Dragon, new Equipment, event and many more but the most promising aspect of the upcoming update is it’s batch of performance improvements focusing on both CPU and GPU optimizations.
And to demonstrate the effectiveness of the upcoming Update in terms of enabling performance gains on a wide range of hardware, Capcom has also released two different videos showcasing the increase in FPS numbers between the Title Update 3 and the upcoming Title Update 4.
In the first video, Capcom used an Intel Core i5-10400 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super running Monster Hunter Wilds on 1080p with DLSS Performance Mode (without Frame Gen) on Medium Settings and there is an overall 20% performance increase between the two versions of the game in one of the three boss battles (which were intentionally chosen for testing out performance gains cause they’re the most graphically intensive parts of the game).
And in the second video, Capcom used an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X with an AMD Radeon RX 6600 running the game on 1080p with FSR Performance Mode (again, no Frame Gen was used) on Medium Settings and we saw a significant 23% boost in FPS during the first boss fight. The videos clearly show definite and quantifiable performance gains for Monster Hunter Wilds in the upcoming Title Update 4 which is great news for all PC players out there.
Check out both videos below:
This is a truly commendable effort by Capcom and proves that they really care about the PC community along with the overall performance of Monster Hunter Wilds which is also a big win for PC gaming as a whole. So if you’ve been disappointed by the game’s performance earlier on your PC, give it a try once more with the upcoming update on 16th December and you may be in for a delightful surprise.
In other news of Monster Hunter Wilds, the game is set to receive it’s final update in February next year.
