Despite struggling in many different areas such as in terms of actual sales numbers, player ratings and overall player counts which were pretty much unthinkable for a Call of Duty title even six months back from now, this year’s Black Ops 7 has still managed to secure the title of the best selling game in November in the U.S. This report comes from Mat Piscatella, the Senior Director & Video Game Industry Thought Leader at Circana, which also points out that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 took the title from it’s rival Battlefield 6 which is now at the second spot in the list.

The Call of Duty franchise has been accused by many players and critics for getting repetitive and stale for a long time and it seems this year’s Battlefield 6 and all the phenomenal success EA’s flagship shooter has had so far may actually force Activision and the devs to make changes to what has become a fairly familiar mold of gameplay, on a more fundamental level. So even though the juggernaut first person shooter series has slowed down quite a bit this year, there’s still more than enough time to inject new Life into the games and make the franchise feel fresh all over again.
