Blade Runner 2033 Labyrinth just got cancelled on Steam, and people didn’t see this coming at all, yet there is an ongoing investigation as to what is happening with the studio behind it, that being Annapurna. Annapurna was beloved by many, they even had a hand on the recent Silent Hill revival, and they also helped publish one of the best games of 2022, that being Neon White. Blade Runner 2033 Labyrinth was expected to come very soon, however, it never panned out due to what’s currently happening, fans are very sad about this.
Blade Runner 2033 Labyrinth got cancelled
The game industry is a very complex thing to follow, with so many twists and turns and studios closing as we speak. There has been layoffs with the biggest players such as Xbox, they has been “AI” fraud with companies like Activision and in games like Call of Duty, drama keeps brewing as the game awards draw near. Studios often break up in smaller ones when things go south, sometimes they even get absorbed by bigger ones and things just become worse. It is sad to see Annapurna go, as they won’t be doing more games anymore under that label.
However hope isn’t lost, they are under a new label called Fictions which seems to have been made out of Take Two’s Private division. This is great news for people who have been wanting to get more quality games from them or just published by them. We can only hope that conflict can settle down for a bit and stop causing so many game cancellations, we know that money matter in the industry but when its the only thing you aim for things go wrong. While Blade Runner 2033 Labyrinth will not come out under Annapurna, perhaps it might do so under Fictions since they are the same people.
