After the recent delay of GTA 6 which has now been pushed to November 2026, it seemed that most publishers would like to move out of the way of Rockstar’s behemoth Open World title but as developer Insomniac Games has confirmed in a social media post yesterday, the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine is still set to release on fall next year and not getting delayed in any way. Wishlists for Wolverine on the PlayStation Store are also open which enables fans to get all the latest and hottest info on the game before it arrives next year so if you’re one of them, make sure to stay on the loop.
However, despite Insomniac confirming Wolverine’s 2026 release window, a lot can change between now and fall next year which means there’s certainly a possibility of the game coming out one or two months before. That way, Wolverine is guaranteed a whole lot more sales numbers and audience before GTA 6 eclipses everything else starting from fall next year. Also, we’ll get to hear a lot more info and content on Marvel’s Wolverine in Spring 2026, as confirmed by the last State of Play event so hopefully the actual release date may also be revealed then.
After the phenomenal success of Marvel’s Spider Man and Spider Man 2, Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game has garnered a ton of anticipation and hype cause just like Spider Man, Wolverine can also be a driver for amazing gameplay which could easily result in a great game, especially in the capable hands of Insomniac. The way Insomniac took Spider-Man and pretty much reinvented him up to the towering standards of current-gen AAA gaming, both from technical and mechanical standpoints, it sure looks like they could pull off the same with Wolverine as well, especially after the first teaser which looks pretty awesome and true to the iconic Marvel character.
