DOOM The Dark Ages just got bigger, as the last update for the popular PC title will include some interesting changes. Namely, the most important one of them is the Ripatorium 2.0, with the ability to customize the arena mode even further, to the point it pretty much is yours to build as you see fit. From Monster encounters, to even tracks that play from the jukebox, everything is up to you when it comes to customization, and you can even share it via passwords. Sometimes its important to keep things very simple, as adding more systems on top of things makes accessibility harder.
DOOM The Dark Ages got better
On top of this, there has been some quality of life changes to the campaign mode, specifically when it comes to how the game plays out control wise. This is big because a complaint that sometimes occurred with the game is that bindings were kinda weird. Along with this, there seems to have been some rebalancing when it comes to weapons and damage but that seems mostly tied to the Ripatorium update and the changes are quite minimal. Players shouldn’t worry about any sort of difficulty shift because DOOM The Dark Ages is already as tough as they make them.
It would be quite frustrating for some players if difficulty got nerfed, but thankfully people at id Software is considerate for those who play these games and respect skill expression. The fact that the arena lets you customize so much allows people the ability to fit the game to their liking, some people like very unforgiving games, and some others like cakewalks. Sometimes games need to provide a big challenge as it can be an opportunity to grow as a player, and sometimes you just want to sit back, relax, and starting blasting away some demons in DOOM The Dark Ages Ripatorium 2.0.
