Behaviour Interactive has officially confirmed that its horror game, Dead by Daylight, will get a second crossover chapter based on the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. This announcement puts the sci-fi horror property in an exclusive group, becoming only the second intellectual property, after Resident Evil, to partner with the game more than once. The news was shared through a short teaser on the game’s official X account, generating excitement among its dedicated player base about the new Killer and potential Survivors.
The new DLC chapter is set to release in January 2026, coinciding with the final episodes of Stranger Things Season 5. A brief teaser indicates that the main character in the new content will be Vecna, the show’s primary antagonist, who is expected to be the new playable Killer. This will be the second version of the character added to Dead by Daylight’s roster; the original Dungeons and Dragons Vecna was part of the June 2024 chapter. Now, the focus is on how the television series’ version will use his telepathic and mind control abilities to create a unique playstyle compared to the magic-focused powers of the earlier version.
This new content follows the successful return of the original Stranger Things chapter, which was reintroduced to the game in November 2023. That initial package included the Killer, The Demogorgon, along with Survivors Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington. Many in the community expect the 2026 chapter will also bring in a couple of new Survivors alongside Vecna. Speculation points to Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers as the most likely candidates. Also, similar to the first chapter that featured a map based on the Hawkins laboratory, fans anticipate a new environment, such as the Creel House or Vecna’s Upside Down lair, will be added to the game.
The ongoing partnership between Behaviour Interactive and the creators of Stranger Things highlights the lasting appeal of licensed content in Dead by Daylight. The January 2026 chapter had been a topic of much speculation in recent weeks, with rumors about a possible third Resident Evil crossover and even a Predator collaboration. However, the official return to Hawkins confirms that the story and characters from the Netflix hit will continue to have a significant presence in the popular horror game for the foreseeable future.
