Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s post-campaign, open world based multiplayer mode titled Endgame will be unlocked for all players this Friday, regardless of whether they’ve actually finished the game’s co-op campaign or not. But the players who have already completed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s campaign will be rewarded multiple in-game perks and tokens that they’ll be able to redeem.
The Endgame mode was originally intended to be unlocked after finishing the 11 main missions in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s campaign and has you team up with three other players to tackle a series of objectives in an island named Avalon. The open world multiplayer mode will allow up to 32 players in total on a single map that’s divided into four sections with each having different recommended levels. Players are able to choose between four operator classes with unique customizable loadouts and their progress in this mode will also further their overall rank in the game, enabling a unified multiplayer experience across all modes.
Since it’s release on November 14, several aspects of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 haven’t quite managed to take off yet, and one of them is the game’s single player campaign which has been heavily criticized for not having checkpoints and not even letting you pause. However, the Endgame multiplayer mode in Black Ops 7 has been received much more favorably but the divisive campaign was stopping many players from experiencing it until now.
And perhaps that’s why the devs have decided to remove the earlier requirements as it will now enable way more players to jump into this mode which will in turn result in a much higher player count, something that Black Ops 7 truly needs. Though it seems this is a move solely made for bringing more players into the game, otherwise it’s a bit odd for the previous requirement to have been removed less than 2 weeks since release.
But either way, it’d be interesting to see how much things change for Black Ops 7, in terms of overall player numbers and the general reception of the game so far.
